What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (called CSA by many folks) is a direct connection between the farmer and the consumers. In a CSA, you have the unique opportunity to buy a share of the harvest before the growing season begins.
You pay for your farm fresh food delivery before it is harvested; then relax and enjoy the food that is delivered to you during the growing season! Your pre-purchase helps us with the start up costs each crop season – like buying seeds and plants, materials and equipment. It also gives us the security of planning our upcoming plantings and rotations; while knowing crops are sold, so we can better focus on growing them for you. In return, you receive farm fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits that are grown locally by your farmer…so let’s shake hands and get started today!
How Our CSA Works:
Through a CSA subscription, you can have the ease and convenience of enjoying a variety of fresh picked, premium quality, local produce items delivered to your neighborhood.
We offer two produce box subscription choices:
• Full-Share: $500 (Will help feed up to a family of four for a week)
• Half-Share: $300 (Will help feed up to a family of two for a week)
You can pay in full, or you can pay the deposit (Full-Share subscription: $250/ Half-Share subscription: $150) at sign up, and the remainder on or before June 1, 2010. You can pay by PayPal, cash or check written to: Deal Farms – CSA.
What Can I Expect?
Your twenty-four week subscription share will be hand picked and packed in a box every week from May 18th to October 28th, 2010. Expect from five to ten different items in your produce box each week! Our product list has a list of crops we are planting and dates of availability.
We know you will enjoy eating what is in season! It’s easy to join the Deal Family Farm CSA! Fill out the sign up form, attach payment and send it to us to reserve your 2010 subscription! Our family looks forward to serving you in 2010. Click here for our CSA FAQ guide.
